Hand-Crafted for Healing: Home page

Raphael Weisman, the founder, has been making harps and Kinder Lyres, etc., and providing excellent service to Waldorf Schools, families, harpists, and harp therapists, for over 30 years.
In 2011 he handed over the manufacture and management of the company to Terry and Michael Chastain, who are happy to continue the tradition of quality hand made instruments for healing and for the family. They offer Kinder Lyres, Little Minstrels and Therapy/Economy model harps.

Therapy/Economy harps:
Harps of Lorien is a co-operative business with a mission to provide quality hand-crafted instruments for healing. These instruments are blessed and prayed over in the making, sanding, and finishing. It is in this phase that the beauty and grain of the wood comes alive and finds its voice; We inscribe them with mantras and prayers for peace.
The founder of Harps of Lorien, Inc, Raphael Weisman somewhat resembles an Elf himself. A lover of trees, he trained as a master luthier (instrument maker) in London where he built lutes, vihuelas, orpharions, bandoras and various other strange shaped Renaissance and Baroque fretted instruments. He is now retired and living in Santa Fe, where he practices playing the harp and is involved in consciousness-raising projects. He has drafted a proposal for a School of Musical Instrument Making which he is offering to a local Community College in Santa Fe and a college in Vermont.
